O H & S issues - A personal story but a very important lesson for everyone
9 30am - 10 00am Brendan Gosstray - Manager Recreation & Parks City of Greater Shepparton
Brendan's talk is about the five million dollar major project at McEwen soccer reserve, a premier venue that will be capable of holding state level games. This project is currently in stage 1 and will include another 4 soccer fields with support infrastructure, a major reconfiguration of the irrigation supply and holding dam as well as further development with local soccer clubs. Also, the recent works at Central Reserve.

Greg Brown - Track Manager -Wangaratta Raceourse
Greg will talk about the recent track renovation, track issues and this talk will be followed by a racetrack inspection

11 40am - 12 05pm Justin Wise - Area Sales Manager - Netafim
Justin will be presenting a talk on sub-surface drip irrigation (SDI) in sports grounds, ovals, parks and other open space applications. Through the use of examples and relevant case studies Justin will explain the key features and benefits of SDI from design and installation through to actual operation. This will include tips on routine preventative maintenance and guidelines on 'what not to do'.
12 05pm - 12 45pm Mick Goodie- Racecourse Manager -Flemington Racecourse
Mick will give an overview of the racetrack reconstruction, completed in 2007. This was the first major renovation of the famous Flemington track in over 100 years. Mick will also speak about the issues faced when holding a world class event, such as media, overseas trainers and crowds exceeding 100,000 per day.
