0 replies - It amazes me this is still a concern, we used to have 10 foot plus green on a public course, built on 300mm of sand over clay. The key was our appreciation of the plant, weekly sprays with seaweed extracts and soil improvements. We also use effluent water and cut below 3mm, we did not have the luxury of rolling, only cutting. Manage your root systems and soils guys and you can do it , even in a harsh climate such as we were in. When coming into tournaments we used to mow at 2.5 mm minimum, tehy were nev

Could someone help me rates of fungicides

4 replies - Last reply at 12th Apr 12 04:29:56 - Was just having a look around the web and was wondering if anyone knew why the rates vary depending on country? For example? In the UK Heritage Maxx is registered for fusarium (Microdochium nivale), Brown patch (Rhizoctonia solani), Leaf Spot (Drechslera poae) and Anthracnose (Colletotrichum graminicola) at 2.5L/Ha. In Australia its registered at 6L/Ha and in the USA at 3-6L/Ha for these? Same diseases and I know different climate but surely not that much difference? Any ideas?

3 replies - Last reply at 15th Mar 12 10:29:46 - I'm currently the head green keeper at a multi purpose venue that includes golf, bowls and sports grounds. Being in charge of the bowling greens has renewed my interest in this area of turf management but I can't find any bowling green keeper jobs advertised anywhere. Are they that scarce or is there a better place to look?

MCG Outfield

4 replies - Last reply at 5th Feb 12 10:34:52 - I think the MCG has to be recognised as having the best cricket outfield of the world doesn it? No matter the form of cricket be it 20/20 test or 50overs it is always beautiful. Dont think I ever see another ground anywhere in the world which is constantly the high standard the 'G' sets. The great patterns for 20/20 have also been a highlight.
